As a country we are all affected by the current COVID-19 situation. As Scotland’s largest independent estate agent, Clyde Property would like to offer reassurance and provide details of our COVID-19 policy during this uncertain time.
We have built a robust contingency plan to ensure all of our employees, clients, partners and associates still offer and receive the excellent standards we strive to achieve. Should any member of our teams need to self-isolate, they have full remote access to their client file and will remain in touch with all parties to ensure our continual level of personal service. We will do everything we can to ensure that your moving journey is not disrupted by current events. Our service offering will not change and we will still remain open for longer. We are also happy to discuss the market and offer advice via telephone appointment or by video if any clients are in a period of self-isolation.
For visitors to any of our 11 branches throughout Central Scotland, we would like to reassure you that the health and wellbeing of our clients and employees is of paramount importance and we are closely monitoring and implementing official guidelines set out by the Scottish Government Health & Social Care.
Within our branches, we will not shake hands with clients and will ensure that all staff are informed and educated on prevention. Every member of our team and visitors to our branches have access to hand washing and hand sanitising products and we will be carrying out additional measures on top of our already high cleanliness standards.
We would ask that any visitors to our branches can be mindful of whether they have been in contact with anyone who has recently visited any geographical areas or people who subsequently self-isolated. If you have travelled to an at-risk area in the last 14 days or have symptoms (temperature, cough, cold) please check the government’s www.gov.uk website for the latest advice.
Clyde Property will continue to closely monitor the situation and together we will navigate these challenging circumstances putting our staff and client’s health and wellbeing above all else.
A word about the property market
We are in the midst of a thriving property market here in Scotland. Interest rates have been cut making borrowing more affordable. In addition, today’s report from RICS found that house prices in Scotland have risen for the sixth month in a row. The latest residential market survey by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors found a net balance of 35% of respondents saw an increase last month. This was higher than the UK average of 29%.
Although there is concern that COVID-19 may affect viewing level and delay the spring house-selling season, we do expect house prices to continue rising in the next three months and so we remain cautiously optimistic as currently enquiry and viewing levels are strong.
Thank you.
